I am entirely in favour of the brave men and women who were sent across as agents by SOE. I just think that it was a useless organisation. My father had a remote connection with them when he served at COSSAC in 1943/44.

This is a Malbork/Marienburg, a massive fortress in modern-day Poland constructed by the Teutonic Knights (a military religious order similar to the Templars and Hospitallers).

Originally founded in the Holy Land during the Third Crusade (1190) ...

I have my grandfather’s photo album of his service in the RNAS/F in 1915 leading an anti-Zeppelin detachment as a CPO in East Anglia, Lowestoft, Kings Lynn, Canterbury, etc. Will post to anyone interested.
